About |dave|heyitsdave.com|

Since childhood I have had a passion for art and a desire to be a professional artist. At an early age, I explored traditional forms of art and continued to develop my skills throughout my scholastic career. I later discovered what has now become my primary passion and career: computer art and animation.

My initial direction toward a creative career was architecture where I extensively used Auto-CAD. After attaining my degree in architecture, I shifted my focus to pursue an education in digital art, a field I feel allows for more artistic expression. In addition to my focus on digital media, I studied a broad spectrum of other art topics including art history, advertising art, 2D design, photography, figure drawing, acting and music. I was also active outside of my classes where I helped organize events that would further the education of other students and was an on-staff TA for the college.

While attending SUNY Nassau, I created an interactive CD-ROM portfolio to submit to The Academy of Art College in San Francisco for their Summer Grant Program. I came to California after hearing that I was one of only four applicants nation-wide to receive a full scholarship. After Studying design, multimedia, and visual effects at the Academy of Art College, I began my career in digital art as Web Developer and Graphic Designer. My first steps into the realm of feature film came with the opportunity to work as an After Effects and Photoshop artist on The Godfather DVD Collection. Presently I'm working as a freelance multimedia artist, while looking for the right full-time opportunity.

heyitsdave.com is a showcase for a great deal of my artwork. Within my portfolio you will find examples of 3D modeling, digital video, web design, and traditional art. I am presently working on a demo reel featuring a 3D animated short, which I hope to have available on this site within the next few months. Please check back for progress updates. If you would like additional information, or a larger sample of any piece, please contact me.
